Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to see the inside of your uterus using the hysteroscope which is inserted through the cervix into the uterine cavity. Hysteroscopy can be diagnostic or operative. Diagnostic Hysteroscopy is used to detect problems in the uterine cavity such as polyps, submucosal fibroids, congenital uterine abnormalities or adhesions within the uterine cavity while operative hysteroscopy is used to surgically correct some of these abnormalities found in the cavity.
